Celebrating 16 years in Business 🥳

Very proud to say we have been trading in Stone for 16 YEARS!! Wow 🤩 what a journey it’s been!!

We began in 2006 after taking over Toddy Woodgates from Alan & Gill next to Wetherspoons and rebranded as ‘Bags of Beautiful Gifts’ a huge two storey building with lots of character and incredible windows which we filled full of lots of wonderful things!

There hasn’t been much we haven’t sold over the years! From every type of giftware available on the market!!

We definitely explored every opportunity but also learnt some very tough lessons in our time trading! But what doesn’t break you makes you stronger!! 👏💪and in the end you find what works for you. ✨That unique formula that keeps customers coming back year after year and we couldn’t be more thankful for our AMAZING customers!!! They mean the world to us 🌎 and keep us doing what we love 💕

We were in our first home in Granville Square for quite a while but the recession hit us and lots of reasons led us to making the big decision to downsize and we found the perfect little shop on Radford Street and we went back to basics and rode through the trading storm ⛈ looking back we went too big too soon! But you learn from your mistakes and make the best of what you have 😊❤️

We re-branded as “Jolu” which is ‘jo’ for Jodie and ‘Lu’ for Lucas the eldest son and Vals grandson. The name stuck and after growing the business for several years the old Chantilly shop went up for rent and it was the best decision we made 🙌 we love our home on the high street. 

We have been at our current location at unit 3, no 23 high street 5 YEARS now and made it through COVID and lockdown through the support of our lovely Town and loyal customers by doing local deliveries and it pushed us to launch our website www.jolugifts.com this was definitely our saviour as customers could view our products from the comfort of their home whilst we had to shut the shop for months on end!!
This was definitely the hardest thing not being able to open and feeling out of control but I gave us the time and ability to set up the website and now it’s one of our best assests and works amazingly alongside our high street store. 

We are very much a family business with Mother and Daughter team Val & Jodie and Val’s Husband Ken is an essential part of the team behind the scenes! Ken also cleverly makes our beautiful range of candles, diffusers and wax melts in-house in our candle 🕯 room located upstairs!


We LOVE what we do and finding something new and exciting each year to keep it fresh but also building our collections with the brands we stock and we are very proud stockists of some amazing brands such as @jomajewellery @katieloxton @powder_uk @brakeburn @fivedollarshakedesigns @eliebeaumont @carrieelspethjewellery @eastofindiauk @rosiemadeathing POM and many many many more!

We sell a beautiful range of jewellery, fragrances, accessories, giftware and local artists as well as ladies clothing, wedding and baby gifts and the best selection of luxury and handmade cards you will find!

We won’t say that trading and owning your own business is easy it’s far from it!
